Dreams Do Come True
Storytime: In 2024 I had some very aggressive goals on my manifestation board. Some were realistic expectations while my other goals were heavy manifestations carried from 2022. In order to achieve some of my goals in 2024 I made a few sacrifices, locked in (isolated myself a bit) and made actionable steps towards what I wanted to accomplish.
For those that really know me, know I am determined to meet my ultimate career goal. Over the past 5 years I’ve been progressively moving towards each promotion one year at a time. Now that I moved closer to near family, I’m not ready to up and move away just yet. Being mobile for a job that requires you to have to move state to state to see progression in your career just didn’t work for me (right now). I wasn’t willing to miss out on core memories with family for a job. So I left what was comfortable to go to a different company that is a $3 million volume increase from my prior company with more responsibilities, mobility within the state instead of from state to state and a higher pay structure. Although I may not love it, this role is a stepping stone towards progressive promotion in the direction of my ultimate dream job.
As the holiday season approaches, my family always asks me what I want for Christmas. For me, Christmas is about spending time with loved ones not receiving gifts. Unless there are children involved then it’s all about gifts, lol. Every year I tell them the same thing, I don’t want or need anything. 2024 Christmas, my Mom was persistent on knowing what I wanted. So I told her I want a house. She stood in agreement with me
and helped me pray over it. At church, Bishop preached on a series about 4th quarter miracles. Just like in a football game, where a team may have been down in Quarter 1, 2 & 3, but in the 4th Quarter……. The team rises up as victorious and takes the win.
All that to say, with some uncomfortable yet necessary changes, I was able to achieve a goal that I’ve been trying to accomplish for three years. Some things are just worth the wait! This is a dream come true.
Shop the Look:

Before I start shopping for home decor and doing renovations, I started diving into the different types of home decor style options. My list for my home doesn’t really consist of material things but a feeling. For 2.5 years I’ve been a bit of a nomad and lived in 3 different states. It’s hard to own in your housing style when you pick up and move after a few months.
Nonetheless I want my home to have the following:
◦ Feel like a place of peace
◦ Feel cozy and warm
◦ Have a cohesive atmosphere from one room to the next
◦ An opportunity to grow in the home over 5- - 7 years
After research different home aesthetic styles, I came across two that I absolutely love. Farmhouse and Modern. As I was putting my moodboard together, I kept thinking how how to mesh the two styles together. I watched some home decor shows, read AD magazine, walked showrooms and searched online; to come up with my home style. With earth tones along with some dark moody hues, adding a touch of masculine elements in an open concept mixed with natural light and a play on different textures of metal as well as fabrics, my home will become an extension of my my personal style.
Oh how I can’t wait to get stated!
